There have been several good performances across early season Opens in Crawley, Eton, Tooting and Sutton.  At Crawley, Amelia Watson broke the U17W's club record in the Shot with 9.23. James Naylor set club records in the U17B’s for 150 and 300m. Lily Grant ran 44.06 in the U15G'S 300m to move into 2nd place in the club records for the event, and Emiko Salvi set a new U15G's 600m record. Dan Statham PB’d in the high jump.

Racing at HHH track in Tooting, both Pippa Roessler and Frankie Evered had PB'S in their first 1500m of the season.

Under 11’s Max Owen (winning the 150m), and in the 600’s Lily Woodhams (4th in 2.07.6) and Ollie Burnett (also 4th in 2.04.59) were yet more notable results from the Crawley Opens as was U13 Will Graham's 4.35m in the long jump.

At Sutton on Sunday, hot sunshine added a touch of summer to the annual Hercules Wimbledon Young Athletes Medal Open Meeting. A string of strong performances saw several RPAC athletes winning medals. First up were the boys 1500m races and the tone was set by Freddie Fowler in the U13’s who calmly settled into the pack following the current UK number 1 from HHH, and then gained steadily over the last lap to take the gold in a long sprint finish. A new PB for Freddie.

Next up saw Felix Vaughan, new to U15’s, run a blistering 1500m in 4.31.43 to take the silver medal with a big PB, knocking 9 seconds off his previous best. Early season markers laid down by the boys!

Emelye Kenyon-Brown in her first track outing of the season brought home the Gold in the U17W 1500m.

The U15G'S 800m races were run as a time trial to accommodate numbers and once the results were consolidated, RPAC had claimed all three medal positions with Lucy Broderick 1st, Emiko Salvi 2nd and Pippa Roessler 3rd. Both Lily Grant and Frankie Evered ran fast races too and for Lily it was as part of a punishing series of four events over the weekend as she prepares for her Pentathlon challenges ahead.

In the U11 boys, Gusie Lewis picked up Gold for the Long-Jump with a new PB, and in the 1000m finished 4th in a fast race that saw a new Meeting Record set.
