The last of this season's U15/U13 YDL matches took place at Woking on Saturday. Competing in hot sunshine (!) the team produced a string of outstanding results including two new club records.

Jack Broughton had a great day in the U15 competition winning all three of his events and recording two PB's along the way. His 5.24 for the long jump was a big PB and his 40.1 in the 300m fast enough to move him into 2nd place on the club records page. His third 1st place finish came in the 800m.

Katie Mackison also excelled. Katie had three new PB's. She set a new club record with a throw of 30.77m in the U15 Javelin, moved to 2nd place in the club records with 8.75m for her Shot and recorded her fastest 300m with a time of 47.5.

The second new club record came in the U15B high jump where Owen Knowles cleared 1.55. In his first official attempt at Discus, Owen threw 18.20 to move into 2nd place in the club records and with a strong 22.17 for his first Javelin attempt, Owen can argue he too had three PB's!

Special mention for Oli Mooney too whose throw of 17.83m in the U13 Javelin was thought to have set a new club record until it was noted it had been missed that he had thrown 17.93 at Horsham last month and so already holds the record!

There were wins for Pippa Roessler in the U13 1200m (with a new PB breaking through the 4 minute barrier) and Eva Marsh in the U13 800m.

Others to record PB's included Sienna Aldridge who had a good day setting her fastest times in both the U13 75m and 150m,  Laila Hassan U13 150m, Izzie King U15 100m, Maddy Pullen U15 1500m,  Libby Evans U13 Shot and Emelye Kenyon-Brown in the U15 javelin.

There were plenty of other good contributions to the team score on the day helping the club to a 5th place finish.

Many thanks go to Gina Watson who has put so much time and effort into managing the team and to our officials Ivan and Ian and all the parents who helped the officials put on the match.

Pictured at Woking are Katie at the gun for the 300 and Eva leading at the bell on her way to winning the 800.
