Reigate Priory Athletic Club is run entirely by volunteers who have an interest in the sport. While most members are active runners and athletes, the club does need other skills and support, and there are plenty of opportunities for people to develop and practice transferable skills - or just help out in the local community:

  • Coaches: the club develops its own coaches through the England Athletics development scheme. Being a coach enables you to train other athletes, as well as understanding your own capabilities.
  • Officials: the club manages its own events under UK Athletics rules, and needs officials trained to the standards expected. Just like being a football referee, being an athletics official enables you to progress to higher echelons including international meetings if you want to progress that far.
  • Race Directors: managing a large event such as the Priory 10k requires great organisation skills that are recognised far wider than just the athletics and running world.
  • First Aiders: we require first aiders at all our events, and provide all the training required
  • General helpers: if the power of a high-viz jacket, or the satisfaction of being appreciated works for you, then we always needs helpers at our events, or other high profiles events such as the London Marathon.

The club will also consider Duke of Edinburgh Award students who are looking for a volunteering placement - especially those with an interest in the sport!

Further information about volunteering opportunities is available on our dedicated volunteering page.

If you are keen to be involved, or just want to find out a bit more, please complete the form below and our volunteer coordinator will get back to you.
