Sunday 19th May saw the latest MABAC fixture, hosted by Blackwater Valley Runners in Farnham Park. With a busy weekend of alternative races, we expected the turnout from RPAC to be small and we weren't disappointed!

After a few tense moments about transport arrangements a team of six set off from Bell Street Car Park, to be joined in Farnham by Nat who had made her own way there. For once we weren't the only team with a small turnout as numbers were down across all teams. There were only 105 runners compared with more than 300 at the event held in Windsor Great Park in January.

Farnham Park is beautiful, with views across to the Hog's Back, and well worth a visit. The course is all run on grass and is best described as "undulating". It's a two lap course of a little under 5 miles. There are a couple of short, sharp hills thrown in just to test one's resolve and stamina.

The ladies won the day for RPAC with Nat and Jamilla, making her first MABAC appearance, finishing ahead of the RPAC men. Jamilla managed to hold off a challenge from Paddy ("I'm nursing a hangover") Patrick. Andrew ("maybe my legs haven't recovered from the marathon") Bamford, Ian Edmonds, Gillian O'Regan and Moray Carey  completed the RPAC lineup.

The next MABAC fixture is on Holmwood Common on 9th June.
