Huge success for Katie Mackison in the Surrey Championships on Sunday! Katie threw 39.22m in the U15G'S Javelin which not only won her the Gold medal, but was a Championship Best Performance. No Surrey U15G has thrown so far in the Championships. Ever. It is also a National Standard which means Katie has gone beyond the Entry Standard for the English Schools Track and Field Championships in July and should be confident of a place in the Surrey team. Oh, and a new club record!

There were many other outstanding performances. In the U20W, Anousha Wardley took Silver in the Pole Vault and there was a Bronze for U17W Amelia Watson in the 80mH with a new PB.

James Naylor qualified for the final of the U17B'S 400m with a new PB, finishing eighth fastest in Surrey. He also set a new PB in the U17B'S 200m.

Tyrese Greenway, who has only recently started in the sport, ran PB'S in both heat and final of the U17B'S 200m finishing seventh. In the 100m he recorded the eighth fastest time in the heats, in another PB. Unfortunately, as he was in the fastest race, under the qualification rules he just missed out on a place in the final. In both the 100 and 200m Tyrese set new club records for the U17B'S! As Tyrese is in the lower year of his age group, these were very promising performances.

In the U15G'S, Lily Grant was Bronze medalist in the 300m and also qualified for the 75mH final where she finished sixth. Lucy Broderick followed what seems to be a RPAC tradition in 800m of being placed in the "heat from hell" with three of the medal favourites! With only the winner of each heat guaranteed a place in the final plus the four quickest losers from across the four heats, it meant they were forced to run the heat as if it were a final. Lucy qualified and took Bronze in the final with a PB and English Schools Championships entry standard time. 1, 2 and 3 in the final all came from her heat!

Frankie Evered had a great run in the 300m heats, with a new PB.

Pippa Roessler eased through her heat of the 1500m on Saturday, returning on Sunday to take sixth place in the final.

In the boys U15 1500, Felix Vaughan also negotiated Saturday's heat without a problem and finished fifth in the final. Both Pippa and Felix are in the younger year of their age group.

Victoria Wilkes had a good weekend, getting through to the semi-final in both the 100 and 200m.

In the U13G's, Lucy Dénecé ran two PB's in the 1500, on Saturday to qualify, then again in the final on Sunday where she finished sixth. Eva Marsh ran a season's best time in the 800m qualifying, just missing out by one place on reaching the final.
