Two days of intense competition at the Surrey Track and Field Championships in Kingston saw a healthy return of precious metals as the club's young athletes came home with nine medals. Including four Gold.
Saturday saw George Evered picking up another PB in the heats of the U13 200m whilst in the U15 200m Vicky Wilkes breezed through the heat and semi final with a healthy PB in the heat, to take the Bronze Medal in the U15 Girls 200m Final! Although going out in the semi final, U15 Ellie O'Donovan picked up a new 200m PB, doubling up on Sunday with a 100m PB in the heats of the 100m. In the U15 Girls 800m heats Eva Marsh just missed out on progressing to the final but kept up her record of a PB in all three of her 800m races this year!

Drew Burridge continued his fine run of PB'S in the U17 400m with a time of 55.92 in the heat. For Lily Grant there was the disappointment of disqualification in the 300mH with no second chance for a false start.
Out on the field, Lily Cain-Jones had recorded a huge PB throw of 32.36m in the U15 Javelin Final and this proved good enough to win the Gold Medal against tough opposition.

Back on the track meanwhile, having narrowly missed qualification for the U15 800m final despite finishing second in her heat (five heats, only the winner of each guaranteed a final place), Frankie Evered was continuing her run of PB'S in the U15 300m. With a time of 44.34 Frankie won her heat with ease and returned to finish 5th in the Final.

Now late into the afternoon. the middle distance finals started.
Emiko Salvi was back to take part in a gruelling U17W'S 3000m. With a trademark surge over the last 300, Emiko ran a big PB time of 10.34.18 to pick up a Silver Medal to add to her collection. Her time moves her up to 20th quickest in the UK at the time of writing.
Matthew Pickering was next and was another to pick up a PB with 4.49.66 seeing him also finish with a Silver Medal in the U13 boys 1500m - and ranked 16th in the UK!
Yet another PB was to come! Lucy Dénecé took 11 seconds off her previous best to finish 7th in the U13 girls 1500m Final with a time of 5.12.80. This sees Lucy into the top 30 in the UK ranking for the event.
I make that 4 Gold's, 3 Silvers and two Bronze Medals!
