Shining under the floodlights at recent Open Meetings, Emiko and Frankie have had a great couple of weeks.

A club record that had stood for 9 years in the U17 Women's 3000m fell to Emiko Salvi at the British Milers Club meeting in Brighton late in the evening on Wednesday. Following her 9 second PB in taking the Silver Medal in the 3000m at the Surrey T & F Championships, Emiko took another 8 seconds off in a 3000m race, described by the commentator as "loaded with big names". With two pacesetters pulling the race along, Emiko finished in 10.26.82. A week earlier, running at another BMC meeting this time at Cambridge Harriers track in Eltham, Emiko took 7 seconds off her 1500m time finishing in 4.48.64.

Frankie was another late evening runner. Last week on the Monday night, she set a new U15G'S club record in the 400m at the Blackheath and Bromley Open with a fast time of 61.82! This week, finding herself in the West Country, Frankie turned out at the BMC meeting in Exeter on Tuesday to record a new 800m PB with a time of 2.24.09.
