A small contingent of RPAC boys turned out for the Ebbisham Boys League match at Ewell on Sunday and produced some excellent results.

In the U15 800m Oscar Curry won the A string with another fast time to keep his good run of form going this season. Gusie Lewis, fresh from setting a new PB in the 800M at the Brighton Open Meeting last Wednesday, ran a second consecutive 800M PB finishing  2nd in the B string with a time of 2.26.6. Joe Walker completed a strong line up with a good run in the non scoring U15 800m.

Oscar doubled up in the hunt for points with a PB in his 2nd place finish in the 300m while Gusie Lewis also doubled up with a 300m and was rewarded with yet another PB! A good few days for Gusie!

Barton Carter won the A string U15 long jump with 5m.02 and Rudi Haylock had another good match winning the B string U15 long jump with a PB 4m.77. Rudi also equalled his PB finishing 2nd in the high jump with 1m.55 and ran a fast 13.3 in the 100m. Gusie Lewis was our third U15 long jumper also jumping well.

Noah Young ran well as a non scoring U17 in the 1500m posting 5.05.6.

In the U13's Justin Collins picked up another PB in winning the high jump with 1m.25. He also performed well in the long jump and in his first 200m.

There were excellent performances  from our U11'S  with the highlights Michael Macguire clearing 3m.96 in winning the long jump,  and a fast 600m by Aiden Kelley posting 2.04.4. Michael also ran a good 75m race while Aiden was one of the fastest in the 150m and jumped well too. George Turner had good results in both his events, the 600m and the long jump, and Etham Else ran well in his 150m and 600m races.

The next Ebbisham Boys League match is at Coulsdon on Sunday 14th July.

Summer was truly with us on Saturday for the Girls' Lily B League match at the sparkling new athletics stadium in Walton on Thames. There were plenty of performances by the RPAC  athletes in both track and field events to match the hot weather.

In the field, as ever our outstanding U17 Javelin girls, Katie Mackison and Lily Cain-Jones, took 1st place in both the A and B string with massive throws. They were well supported by Lucy Dénecé who was 3rd in the U15 Javelin and Alessia Turner 2nd in the U13'S with a new PB of 16.04m.

There were strong performances in the long jump too. With A and B representation in both the U15 and U13's all four of our athletes finished 3rd in their respective battles. These included a PB jump of 4m.23 by Eva Marsh in the U15's and both our U13's, Imogen Wheeler and Alessia Turner,  finishing with the same best jump on the day of 3m.70.

Completing our scoring in the field events, Francesca Manrow had a good throw of 16m.16 in the U15 discus.

In the track events there were several new PB's and a number of girls competing in an event for the first time. Amongst the new PB's from those who already  had a time, both Eva Peters and Imogen Wheeler doubled up with personal best times in both the 100 and 200m. Eva Marsh added to her Long Jump PB with a new best time in finishing 2nd in the U15 1500m. In the U15 800m Amelia South knocked 4 seconds off her previous best. Vicky Wilkes missed out on an U17 100m PB by just 1/10th of a second.

It was great to see Charlotte Pelekani and Phoebe Bakker running in the U13 75mH at the start of the meeting. For both girls it was their first 75m hurdles race.  Ella Scrase in the U13 800m ran well on her debut in the event. In the U15 's Iris McAuliffe in the 200m and Maddie Blakeley in the 300m and the long jump both performed well, also in their first attempts at the events. Shakila Keable ran hard to take 3rd place in her first U13 1500m race.

A good contingent of U11's competed in the non scoring 75m, 600m and long jump. Eve Goulding was our quickest in the 75m where she equalled her PB with a speedy 11.4. Eve also equalled her PB in the long jump with 3m12 with Isla Kinniborough also clearing over 3m with a leap of 3m.02.  Emily Sheard was second quickest in the 75m with a time of 12.6. In the 600m our two fastest finishers were Isla Kinniborough (2.15.9) and Lily Tomkins with a time of 2.20.3.

Four of the U11's also stayed on to compete strongly in the 4 x100m relay.

The next Lily B League match is in Guildford on Sunday 7th July.

Two days of quality athletics at the Surrey County Track and Field Championships in Kingston saw 18 RPAC Juniors compete against the best in Surrey.

There were a host of PB's, some in both (!) heat and final,  a clutch of medals, and for everyone who competed, a great experience and the satisfaction of having been there and come through the test. Three even doubled up with a track and a field event; Eva Marsh,  Lucy Dénecé and Alessia Turner.

In the U17 Javelin it was Gold and Silver for RPAC with Katie Mac adding to her personal hoard of Gold clearing 40m and Lily Cain-Jones taking the Silver with a new PB 36.55. Both girls are in the top 20 in the UKA rankings! Pretty Awesome!  Alessia Turner threw a PB too to come away with Bronze in the U13G'S Javelin.

After an injury hit season last year, Barton Carter announced his return with a huge leap in the U15B'S Long Jump! Barton jumped 5m.26, a massive PB and good enough for the Silver Medal.

In the U17B's high jump, Dan Statham equalled his PB with 1.65m and finished 5th.

Completing our list of Field event competitors, Lily Woodhams jumped with great panache to equal her PB of 3m99 in the U13G'S Long Jump Final and finish 7th. Eva Marsh was 9th in the U15G'S Long Jump Final and Lucy Dénecé  came 7th in the Final of the U15G'S Javelin.

On the track Vicky Wilkes came through her heat to finish 5th in the U17W'S 200m Final.

Drew Burridge also won through to his final in the U17B'S 400m, also taking 5th place.

Eva Peters missed her events on Saturday through illness but ran well on Sunday in the U15G'S 100m.

Oscar Curry, Samuel Stapley and Shakila Keable all came through their heats of the 800m's with new PB's. For Samuel there was an even bigger PB (6 seconds) in the final of the U13B's 800m where his time of 2.20.53 saw him finish 4th. At the time of writing, 18th fastest in the UK this year! It also places Samuel 2nd in the club records beating all his predecessors back to Tom Drew in 1991! Another 1/2 a second Samuel...

Shakila also had her biggest PB in the final going under the 2m.30 mark with 2.28.36 in taking 5th place in the U13G'S.  A top 25 time in the UK for Shakila! Oscar has been having a great season and after a big PB in his heat ran almost the same time finishing 6th in the U15B'S  800m final.

There were PB's in the heats for Lilah Unwin and Pollyanne Stott in the U13 800's, and Genevieve Alcock in the U15 1500m.

Gusie Lewis and Eva Marsh U15 800m's,  Lucy Dénecé U15 1500m, and Sam Rolaston U13 1500m and Alessia Turner U13 800m were all close to their best times in their heats.

Once again, several of the UKA Officials present over the two days were from RPAC and the competitors greatly appreciate the time and effort they put in to make the event happen.

A long trip to Ware in Hertfordshire didn't put off a good contingent of athletes from RPAC for the 2nd match in this season's YDL.

There were plenty of PB's, several 1st place finishes and a couple of athletes competing for the first time.

Barton Carter had another good day to follow up after his medal success at the recent Surrey Championships.  He came 1st in the U15B'S long jump and scored heavily for the team by adding 3rd place finishes in both the 100 and 200m races, achieving PB's in each! Rudi Haylock was in good form too, equalling his PB in winning the high jump with 1m55 and then coming 1st in both the B string long jump and 200m. Rudi's long jump was a new PB. Also in the U15B'S,  Oscar Curry had 2nd place finishes in the 300 and the 800m races posting fast times in each.

Our U15G'S both scored well by competing in three events each. Francesca Manrow won the discus, came 2nd in the 300m with a PB and was 4th in the 200m. Caitlin Holloway  had a PB in finishing 2nd in her 300m race and threw well in both the discus and the shot.

Imogen Wheeler had a great day! Three events and three PB's! Imogen came 2nd in the U13G'S long jump with 3m 73 and was speedy in both the 75 and the 150m races. Charlotte Pelekani scored heavily for the team in her first appearance taking 2nd place in her long jump competition and having 3rd place finishes in both her 75 and 150m races. Tiggy Boyce also in her first appearance ran a great 800m to finish in 2nd place by a fraction of a second, but in doing so took maximim points as the winner of the B string. (A and B runners competed in the same race). Pollyanne Stott finished the race in 1st place to also pick up maximum points. Both girls then ran well in the 75m sprint. Completing our contingent of U13G'S,  late in the afternoon it was Shakila Keable's turn in the 1200m where,  despite having to run on her own at the front throughout, Shakila won in a time of 4.01.9. This time is in the top 25 in the UK currently and ranks her 3rd in the club records for U13G'S 1200m.

Justin Collins as ever turned out in three events and was rewarded with a PB in his U13B'S 75mH race. Justin also competed well in the 100m and in the high jump. A first outing for Sunny Boyce saw him also competing well in the 100m and Javelin.

Thanks go to Ivan Barratt and Ashley Burridge for officiating all day and to David Manrow for managing the team.

The next YDL match for U13,  U15 boys and girls is on Saturday 22nd June in Battersea.

Some outstanding racing by young RPAC Juniors saw four first place finishes in the Junior races at the annual YMCA Fun Run event held in Priory Park.

With trophies and money for the winners the races were all highly competitive. No more so than in the U16's where two runners broke away from the pack to battle hard in a sprint finish which saw Oscar Curry take 1st place. Gusie Lewis ran a good race too to come home 3rd.

In the U12 race Ollie Burnett was strong to be 1st boy home with Harry Peters 3rd boy.  Ollie and Harry pictured after the awards ceremony.

It was a RPAC double in the U10's with Alastair Fordyce 1st boy and Jessica Randall 1st girl. A great run by Eve Goulding took 3rd place in the girls'.
