The annual Surrey XC Championships took place last Saturday at Lloyd Park in Croydon.

In the U13 girls race, a determined run by Lucy Dénecé saw her come home in 2nd place to pick up the Silver medal.  A top six finish also guaranteed Lucy an automatic place in the Surrey team for the CAU UK Inter-Counties XC Championships in Loughborough on 9th March.

In the team event at Croydon, Lucy was joined by Genevieve Alcock, Shakila Keable, Alessia Turner, Lilah Unwin, Lily Woodhams and Yasmine Badawi in seeing the RPAC U13 girls finish 5th. Our U13 boys team of Samuel Stapley,  Gus Lewis, Will John-Cox,  Sam Rolaston,  Chris Hodgetts, Ben Wright, Kai Adams and Ollie Burnett finished in 8th place. Only Gus moves up to U15 next year so the boys have gained valuable experience this time round.

Amongst the older runners there were several impressive performances including from Noah Young, Oscar Curry and Joe Walker in the U15 boys race, Imogen Gregory,  (U15G), Emelye Kenyon-Brown (U17W) and Eloise Bull in the U20 women's race.
