The annual CAU UK Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships took place on Saturday in Loughborough.

With 40 counties from across the UK sending their best runners, the competition was fierce. Lucy Dénecé was in the Surrey U13 girls team on the strength of her performances at cross country this winter and in particular, her Silver Medal in the Surrey Cross Country Championships in January.

Another strong run saw Lucy finish 22nd in a field of 307! This placed her in the top 4 finishers from Surrey and not surprisingly,  with 4 of the top 22, the Surrey U13 Girls took 1st place and the Team Gold.

Lucy will be back in action next Saturday running in the Surrey Schools Junior Girls team at the English Schools Cross Country Championships in Leeds. Joining her in the Surrey Squad hotel on the Friday night will be Lucy Broderick who has been selected in the Surrey Schools Inter-Girls team.

Good Luck to both RPAC girls in the English Schools!
