Parkrun Tourism to Hove Promenade with Minibus Travel Saturday 23rd November

The 5th fixture in our Parkrun Tourism spot - Hove Promenade Parkrun took place on Saturday 23rd November.

Despite the soggy conditions there was a good turn out with some excellent results. Missing from the photo above is Peter Luxton.

Just a reminder that these events are open to all senior members, parents, accompanied juniors, and even family members and friends of our club. We have always had a great turn-out and a lovely time at these events through 2019. The next event will be much closer to home - Reigate Priory Parkrun on 28th December.

Senior news

Jimmy James Handicap Event 3 Thursday 28th November 7:30PM at Denbies

This Thursday sees the third event in the Jimmy James Handicap and the last one this side of the New Year. There's everything to play for after two events. We've had a great turnout for the previous events, let's keep this going.

If you plan to run please let us know. This is especially important if you haven't run in a Jimmy James event before as we need to work out a handicap for you. Please contact

The start is prompt at 19:30 so please make sure that you are there in good time.

Don't forget that you will not be allowed to run if you don't have hi-viz and a torch.

Full details and details of the post race meal have been sent out via a separate email.

Club Championships & Grand Prix 2020

Thank you to everyone who provided input into the discussions about the Club Championships and Grand Prix. We have agreed a set of events for each competition (subject to the resolution of a couple of potential calendar clashes). Full details will be sent out separately. A point to note is that the Club Championship Half Marathon race will be the Wokingham Half Marathon on 23rd February. As this event sells out quickly you will need to enter soon if you want to take part. We may look to lay on a minibus if there is sufficient interest.

News from the Field

Jim Vince took part in the IAU  100km race in Aqaba, Jordan on 23rd November. Despite 25 degree heat and a strong headwind on the uphill sections Jim completed the event in 11 hours 9 minutes and 16 seconds. According to Jim that's the equivalent of 20 back to back 33:30 Parkruns. Awesome result Jim!

Closer to home Kate Knight completed her first sub 3 hour half marathon in 7 years, finishing the Silverstone Half Marathon on 24th November in 2:55:43. Well done Kate! Kate also advises that she will be doing her 400th Parkrun at Banstead Woods on 25th January. She'd love to see as many RPAC runners there as possible to help her celebrate. There will be refreshments at The Mint in Banstead afterwards.
