The Junior Boys and Girls Cross Country teams were both in action on Saturday in the second of this season's Surrey XC League matches. Running later in the afternoon at Wimbledon Common, the boys had to contend with heavy rain and a challenging course. Undaunted, the U13 boys team put in a superb effort to finish in 3rd place in a match contested by 15 clubs. An improvement from 4th place in match one. Samuel Stapley was our first runner home finishing in 7th place.
In the U17 and U15 races we had incomplete teams but Noah Young, Oscar Curry and Joe Walker all performed well.
The girls match took place earlier on Mitcham Common. Like the boys, the U13 girls team improved their team finish from match one to take 4th place (having finished 5th in the race held at Reigate). This in a race with 12 clubs taking part. Shakila Keable was our first girl in with a fine 5th place.
In the U15 girls race a strong run by Lucy Dénecé saw her home in 7th place. An incomplete team in the U15 's, but there were good performances too by Imogen Gregory and Isla Smith.

SCHOOLS DISTRICT XC (GIRLS) AT RAAS
Running earlier in the week for their schools in the Girls District XC there were a host of great performances by RPAC juniors. Lucy Broderick won the Senior race. Shakila Keable won the Y8 race with Lilah Unwin 3rd. Pollyanne Stott was 3rd in the Y7 race and there were 4th place finishes for Eva Marsh in the Y10/11 race and Genevieve Alcock in the Y9 race. Ella Scrase and Sophia Bryant were top 10 finishers in the Y8 race. Hopefully, all the above will have qualified for the Surrey Schools XC Championships in January.
The boys districts are to come.
