Awards Evening Postponed
Due to the continued rise in Covid-19 levels and several concerns passed in relation to that, it has been agreed by the committee to postpone the Awards evening due to be held on Saturday 22nd January 2022. The new date for the Awards evening is Saturday 30th April 2022.
To those who have purchased a 'ticket', payment will carry over to the new date. If you would prefer a refund, please contact Melanie Fulton Bell () who will process the refund for you.
Give us your results please
If you run in an event, do please let us know your results by emailing . If possible please can you submit them by Sunday evening at the latest as this allows us to meet the deadline for the Surrey Mirror sports pages.

Saturday 15th January Surrey XC League @ Mitcham Common

Sunday 16th January South of England Indoor Champs @ Lee Valley
Michael Maguire continued his great start to the indoor season by both winning the U13 long jump and setting a new championship record with a jump of 5:02m.
This is a Reigate Priory AC indoor record for U13 boys, the previous one being 4:46m.
Many congratulations Michael.
Saturday 26th February English National XC Championships
Entries close soon for the English National XC Championships which are being held at the iconic Parliament Hill course on Hampstead Heath, London.
The timetable includes U15B'S (4k) at 11.25, U13G'S (3k) at 11.45, U17M (6k) at 12.05, U13B'S (3k) at 12.30 and U15G'S (4k) at 12.45.
There will be a club Juniors team entry and if you want to be included, and haven't already done so, please let know by this Wednesday 19th January. Minimum age 11 on the day of the race.

Senior Section News
Saturday 15th January Men's and Ladies' Surrey League
Both the ladies' and the men's teams were in action on Saturday 15th January. The ladies' race was at Mitcham Common and the men's race was at Richmond Park.
The ladies team came 5th on the day with the men's team finishing 6th. Full results are on https://www.surreyleague.org but we will follow up with the results and a report.
Sunday 16th January - MABAC Windsor Great Park & Club Grand Prix
There was an excellent turn-out at the MABAC event in Windsor Great Park on Sunday. Results and report to follow.
Club training
Following the survey sent to attendees of Tuesday track sessions, the survey results have been analysed. Groups and training sessions will change from Tuesday 25th January but until then, please continue as-is with Less Intense and Middle Distance sessions at 7pm and an Endurance at 8pm. An email will be sent w/c 15th January with further information on the new groups & sessions.
Sunday 6th February training session from the YMCA in Princes Road
Mike Pocock, Ian Edmonds and Ian Burks will be offering 2 training runs on Sunday 6th February from 9am at the YMCA in Princes Rd. Probably 10 miles and 13 miles but they will be tailored to those who turn out on the day.
As usual we will offer free tea, coffee and biscuits Pre and post run!
Saturday 19th February Surrey League XC
Reserve the date. This is the last match of the season (match 4). Ladies are at Effingham Common for a 11:00AM start. Men are at Lloyd Park for a 3:00PM start.
Sunday 20th March YMCA Y2Y North Downs Trek
This is either a full marathon or alternatively a 14 mile route from Denbies. You can see the full details of the event here.
All proceeds from Y2Y will go to the YMCA Life Change fund to pay for YMCA services helping young people get their lives back on track following the Pandemic.
Sunday 9th January Surrey XC Championships
As a result of Eloise Bull's performance in the County Championships at Denbies last Sunday, Ellie has been selected for the squad of fifteen athletes who will make up the team to represent Surrey in the Senior Women's race at the 2022 UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships, on Saturday March 12th.
Sunday 16th January Hitchingbrooke Country Park near Huntingdon
Kate Knight finished her 93rd marathon this last weekend, and is edging closer to her 100th.
She had a fantastic day out completing 8 laps of Hitchingbrooke Country Park which she tells us was a bit of a mud fest.
