Reigate Priory Athletic Club Junior Section provides training, coaching and competition in all forms of athletics (track & field, cross-country and road running) for anyone aged between 11 and 18, at all levels from beginner to county and national standard, within a supportive and friendly environment. We welcome people of all abilities. The one stipulation is that we want members who are keen to represent the Club and to put into practice everything they have learnt in training in a competitive environment. For School years 4 and 5 ( ages 8-11) we operate an "academy" that operates at 9:00am on a Saturday morning.
The Junior section is growing year on year with around 150 members, encompassing a wide range of ability, experience and level of ambition. We consistently have Athletes representing Surrey at both cross country and track and field events at various age groups. All members receive structured coaching in a number of different training groups. The sessions are led by UK Athletics qualified coaches who have been on child protection courses and have been DBS checked. Sessions are run on a Saturday morning at both 9:00am and 10:00am, depending on age group. There are also sessions on Tuesday evenings, at both 5:00pm and 6:00pm, again depending on age group.
The Club enters teams in the Surrey Cross Country League in the winter, as well as encouraging participation in a number of local cross country events. In the Summer we participate in a number of track leagues, including the Ebbisham League for boys, the Lily B league for girls and the YDL, in which we enter a mixed team.
At the moment membership is full, but if you would like to register your interest and be added to the waiting list, please contact the Junior Membership Coordinator using the "Contact Us" form. Prospective juniors are encouraged to check out the RPAC Junior Academy as a starting point and an excellent entry point for membership and to try out the sport.
Once you have registered your interest and have been placed on the waiting list, we will let you know as soon as a place becomes available. The club is run by volunteers, so if any parents (or parents of prospective members) would like to become involved, please contact the volunteer coordinator via the "Contact Us" form and check out the volunteers page.
