Poppy Wardley and Emelye Kenyon-Brown were part of the successful Surrey Schools XC teams at this year's English Schools XC Championships held at Woolaton Park in Nottinghamshire.
Both girls finished as 'scorers' for Surrey, with Emelye part of the Junior Girls team that dominated their race finishing the day as National Champions. Poppy ran in the Inter-Girls team helping Surrey to a 4th place finish. In both races, 44 County teams took part. The combined Surrey Girls teams aggregate score also saw them win the trophy for the best County aggregate. Surrey XC is extremely strong and, (ask the girls), just getting into the Surrey teams is hard!
