The heavy showers that punctuated the sunshine in Guildford didn't stop the talented team from RPAC producing a string of top performances in the latest Lily B (Girls) League match.
Highlight of the day was a blistering U13 100m from debutant Victoria Wilkes. Victoria's time of 13.3 seconds is the 13th fastest in the UK in her age group this year, and only one tenth of a second from being a new club record. Not a bad first outing for the club!
There were two new club records set. Amelia Watson with 19.37 in the U15 Discus, and Anousha Wardley who cleared 3.05m in the U17 Pole Vault. Amelia also had PB's in the 200m and the Javelin! Anousha has been selected to represent Surrey U17W at Pole Vault in the Inter-Counties match coming up on 17th July.
Several others achieved PB's including Izzie King (U15 75mH), Lucy Broderick (U15 200m), Lily Grant (U15 High Jump), Lily Cain-Jones (U13 Javelin), Laila Hassan (U13 100m and 200m) and Joely Watkinson (U13 Javelin and Shot).
First place finishes were achieved by several including Lucy Denece with a big winning margin in the U11 600m, and in their A string events, Katie Mackison in the U15 Javelin, Izzie King in the U15 Long Jump, Abbie Owen in the U17 800m and Lucy Broderick in the U15 1500m.
Special mention too for the U13 4x100m Relay team (Eva, Frankie, Lily C-J and Victoria), who came home in 2nd place in a time of 58.1 seconds.
Provisional results have RPAC finishing the match in 4th place although only a handful of points behind Epsom and Ewell (2nd) and SLH (3rd). Clear winners were the host club Guildford and Godalming. The Final of the Lily B League takes place in Ewell on Saturday 27th August.
Pictured in Guildford are U13 sprinters Laila and Victoria. Throwing a massive 26.18m in the Javelin, Lily Cain-Jones. Winning the 600m Lucy Denece, and winning the 200m Lucy Broderick.
