The first Border League event is at Lightwater Country Park on 5th December. There are races for U9 ( school years 3 and 4) , U11, U13 and U15 with separate boys and girls races. I am awaiting final confirmation of timings but I expect the first race to be the U9 girls at 11:00AM, with races at 15 minute intervals thereafter finishing with U15 boys.
There is no cost to compete but I do need to register athletes ahead of the race. Please can you let me know if your child would like to compete.

Couch to 5K Graduation / Parkrun tourism at Ifield Mill Pond Parkrun Saturday 27th November
We're off to Ifield Mill Pond for the Couch to 5K Graduation on 27th November. This is a parkrun that has fewer finishers than most (last week there were 55). It is pretty flat and run on tarmac paths. Whether you wish to come along to support the Couch to 5K graduands or whether you wish to run on your own, you're very welcome to come along and join in. It would be great if we can get a good turnout to support our fledgling runners.
We will be meeting up at 8:30AM near Gossops Green Community Centre (use postcode RH11 8HJ) - note that this car park is near the only loo available and is a 5 or 10 minute walk to the start.
We will be going to the nearby Squires Garden Centre (formerly called Cheals - the postcode is RH11 8PL and it's NOT the one near Buckland ) afterwards for breakfast and they do require numbers, so please do let Paul Walters know if you wish to attend
You can find the details of the parkrun at https://www.parkrun.org.uk/ifieldmillpond/ and you can see details of the breakfasts at

Paul Walters will also lead a 4 mile walk from Denbies, but note that the walk will start promptly at 9:00AM.

It’s on the 5th Dec and there are a 3 mile and a 1 mile race for adults, children and families. Everyone gets a Santa suit plus mince pie and drinks! It's great fun to do and helps the YMCA - a win-win!
See this for more details.
Ian is also looking for helpers on the day and if anyone is interested please email or
2022 Club Championships
We are assuming that a normal race calendar will be possible in 2022 and have decided to revert to the normal format whereby the Club Championships are held over a series of nominated races. The first club championship race will be the Wokingham Half Marathon which will be held on 27th February. This is a fast, flattish course that is good PB material. This race sells out quickly you can enter here.
The other championship races will be the Wimbledon Dash 5K and the Dorking 10 mile (both also Surrey Championship races - dates TBC) with the 10K race being confirmed once all the league fixtures are known.
We are also looking at reviving the club Grand Prix competition - details to follow in a later newsletter.
Saturday 13th November Battersea Park 10K Graham Bull finished in 39:28 - see the result.
Saturday 13th November Midlands counties cross country league (Betley, round 1) Eloise Bull ran as a guest in RPAC colours, and finished 27 out of 300+ competitors.
Saturday 20th November Maverick Dark Surrey 11Km @ Denbies
Here is Adrian Grant before a grueling 11km in the dark up and down the hills around Denbies - an event called Maverick Dark Surrey. It took about 90 minutes to complete, and even though there has been little rain of late there was a lot of mud - trail shoes were a must!
Sunday 21st November Hampton Court 10K Siubhán Clines finished in a time of 48:38 - see the result.
In case you missed this earlier in the newsletter I would like to start collecting the senior trophies back in as soon as possible to give me plenty of time to get them refurbished and engraved. Please bring them along to Battlebridge if at all possible or contact me to discuss alternative collection/delivery arrangements .
