Saturday 6th November Priory Relays - a call for volunteers please

We are hosting our Priory Relays event on Saturday 6th November in Priory Park - full details are on http://prioryrelays.com/ The event cannot proceed within the generous help of volunteers.

In accordance with current guidelines, RPAC has liaised with the Council to agree Covid-19 mitigation measures covering all participants in the Priory Relays.

Those applicable to volunteers are as below:

  • encouragement to take a lateral flow test before helping
  • the offer of PPE (face masks and/or gloves) provided free by RPAC
  • asking that the NHS QR code at Race HQ is scanned on arrival
  • excluding attendance of any volunteer who is in self isolation, in the same household as someone in self-isolation or is displaying Covid-19 symptoms

 There will be no requirement for volunteers to:

  • complete/submit a Health Questionnaire
  • have their temperature taken on race day

If you run in an event, do please let us know your results by emailing . If possible please can you submit them by Sunday evening at the latest as this allows us to meet the deadline for the Surrey Mirror sports pages.

Saturday 16th October First Surrey XC League from Dave Mills

If you think you may run, and if you haven't already told him, please just let Dave Mills know by Friday so that you can be allocated a number. 

The links above include course maps, race distances and where to park. Club vests should be worn. We will have the club flag planted near to the start line where we can meet.

  

Border League Upcoming Junior Events by Mike Gent

We are again this year entered in the Border League. This is a development Cross Country League for Juniors from U9s to U15s.

The Border League this year will comprise of only 3 matches this year.

Everyone of any standard is free to race and there is no cost. There are now three fixtures this year (the event on 7th November has been cancelled):

  • Sunday 5th December - Aldershot 11:00am
  • Sunday 6th February - Stoke Park Guildford 2:00pm
  • Sunday 6th March - Reigate -12:00pm.


Please mark these dates in your diaries and I will share further details nearer the time.

Thursday 14th October club running session

This Thursday, the Reigate session will be replaced by a track session. Meet at Battlebridge at 7pm.

 

Saturday 16th October First Surrey XC League

The Surrey XC league starts this Saturday - see https://www.surreyleague.org/. The ladies are running at Richmond Park and the men at Epsom Downs.

Any runners still available to run this Saturday in the first Cross Country match who haven’t already made contact, please let us know by emailing  or  as soon as possible.

Message from our Ladies Captain - It’ll be lovely to have lots of Priory vests on the start line supporting each other after the devastating news of Fiona’s death. Fiona has competed for Reigate in an impressive 16 consecutive seasons of which she won 4 and was key to keeping the Reigate ladies in division 1 for so many years - hopefully we will do her proud on Saturday.

 

Sunday 24th October MABAC event at Nonsuch Park

This event has a 10AM start. See the MABAC website for details. There is a 5 mile event as well as 2.5 miles. If you wish to car share, meet up in Bell Street car park for a prompt 9AM departure.

 

Saturday 6th November Priory Relays

As mentioned above the Priory Relays will be on Saturday 6th November, and if you wish to run, put the date in your diary and watch this space!

 

Saturday 18th September Serpentine Swim

Colin Kloes swam in this event and finished the 2 miles distance in 50 minutes and 52 seconds, finishing 38th overall, and 3rd out of 405 in his age category. You can see his result here.

Colin is the proud owner of this medal.

 

Sunday 10th October Brighton Half Marathon

Alex Mansfield ran the half in a fantastic time of 1:28 - a PB! Well done Alex. You can see Alex's result here.

 

Sunday 10th October Manchester Marathon

Kate Knight ran Stretford Parkrun in 42:05 on Saturday in a new PB by 3 minutes as a warm-up to the Manchester Marathon, which she completed on Sunday - her 86th marathon - and counting.
