Congratulations to our Couch to 5K Graduates - and the dates for the next course

Many congratulations to the graduates of our recent Couch to 5K course which culminated in them running 5K (what else) in Priory Park on Saturday morning. Thank you to those club members who turned out to help them achieve their goal.

The full story can be found here.  We have announced the dates of the next course, please share these with anyone you think might be interested in  taking part.

English Schools Track and Field Championships Manchester 10th-11th July - by David Mills

Congratulations to Samuel Stapley who competed for Surrey Schools in the 800m over the weekend. Samuel recorded another PB, finishing 6th in his race and was the quickest Surrey athlete in the Junior Boys 800m.

Unfortunately Lilah Unwin was prevented from running as her year at school were all isolating. It was particularly disappointing for Lilah as had she equalled her 800m PB set in June, she would have been the 4th fastest on the day.

Round 2 of the Vets League Track and Field - Sutton 5th July

A fine bunch of RPAC athletes headed to the Sutton arena on Monday 5th July for round 2 of the Vets Track & Field League. RPAC bossed the 200m event!

Full details can be found here.

Dorking 10s Sunday 11th July

19 RPAC athletes took part across the two events with four people completing the 10K and 15 completing the 10 mile race. There were some very strong results from all participants; to single out a few individual athletes Tom Almond was fifth overall, Ginevra was third lady home and Ian Burks was first in his age category. Well done everybody, results are on the senior results page.

Southern Athletics League Meeting - Crawley 11th July

You'll recall that the Southern Athletics League is the one in which we enter a joint team with Holland Sports and Dorking and Mole Valley. Sadly I don't have any details of which RPAC athletes were there or the events they participated in as the results have not yet been published, but I do have some photos of Eloise and Jo taking part.

Her 6th 100km Event of the Year

Here is Kate enjoying a well deserved glass of Prosecco after completing the 106 Km Isle of Wight Challenge on Sunday. That is her 77th event of Marathon or more distance and her 6th 100Km event of the year. Kate describes the course as very hilly and undulating, but enjoyable. She is competing in the Yorkshire 100 next weekend!
