After the new men's marathon records last weekend in Valencia, this weekend saw the ladies half marathon club record also broken. Conditions for the Milton Keynes Winter Half Marathon were very different to Valencia though, with the temperature hovering around 10C, the wind gusting over 20 mph and a very twisty course over the paths and redways of the city.
Despite all that, Ginevra Stoneley took 62 seconds off her half marathon pb, breaking her own club record in the process, with a chip time of 85:01. After a race long battle with a senior lady from Dacorum & Tring, Ginevra finally pulled away in the last 2 miles to finish 2nd lady overall. Very appropriately, the prize for finishing 2nd included a bottle of wine!
