A small number of junior athletes achieved excellent results at the Surrey County indoor championships held at the David Weir Leisure Centre over the weekend, with 3 medals and a number of PBs.

imogen wheeler photofinishIn the U13 Girls 60m, Imogen Wheeler ran the second fastest time ever for that age group by an RPAC athlete of 8.47secs to qualify for the final. Although not able to repeat that time in the final, Imogen ran just fast enough to achieve third place by 1/100 of a second.
 
Max Orchard also won a bronze medal in the U13 Boys Long Jump with a new PB of 4m 31cm.
 
In the U15 Girls Long Jump Lily Woodhams jumped a new PB of 4m 02cm. In the same event, Eva Peters could not get her run up correct, but was compensated with a new PB of 8.78 secs in the 60m.
 
In the U17 Boys Long Jump, Barton Carter improved from a poor first jump in each round to record new PBs in the 5th and 6th rounds, with a final distance of 5m 49cm.
 
Dan Statham won the bronze medal in the U17 Boys High Jump, with a clearance of 1m 68cm.
