Club News for Everyone
Thursday 27th August - Ian Martin's last coaching session
Last Thursday evening Ian Martin coached his last training session.
Ellis presented him with a card and suitable bottle of red wine, in the presence of his training group and members of the Committee.
As a club we will have a celebration for Ian where we can all show our appreciation when the rules on social gatherings allow this to happen.
Saturday Morning Social running group and Kate Knight's Fundraising for Sash charity
Kate turned up to the Saturday Morning Social running group on 29th August having had her event the South Coast Challenge 100Km cancelled. She had come on foot from home to find us, and then ran with us 5Km around Priory Park followed by coffee at the park cafe. When we dispersed, she went down Flanchford Road and continued throughout the day to cover 40 miles. On her return home she was very wet and cold so needed a few hours rest to get warmth back before carrying on to finish the 100Km by completing 22 miles on Sunday in thankfully drier conditions.
You can support Kate's fundraising for the Sash charity by clicking here, and you can see the details of the Saturday Morning Social running group here.

Junior Training Sessions
Training for the U11s has resumed on Saturday mornings. We are still constrained by EA guidelines as to the permissible number of athletes per coach and so will each week be asking who wishes to attend so that we can manage the numbers.

Senior Training Sessions
Ian Edmonds is this week (1st September) starting a 6pm Tuesday "Social Recovery Run", from Battlebridge, to allow more people to run with him with the current limit of 12. Initially simply turn up, we will assess if we need to restrict based on how many turn out.
You can see the participants of the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday coached sessions here. There are now more than 12 participants on each list, and going forward the numbers for each group will rely on participants occasional reasons for being an absentee from the group (such as holiday or injury) to limit the groups to 12 people per session. If you know that you can't make a particular session please try to let us know so that your place can be reallocated.
It's getting colder - consider buying a club long sleeved running shirt

- Zipped stand-up collar
- Contrasting insets and flatlock seams
- Reflective transfer at the back
For £24 we have these running shirts available for men and women on the iProSports club zone here.
