Another bumper week of news this week with both the juniors and seniors in action.
Saturday 6th November Priory Relays - a call for volunteers please
We are hosting our Priory Relays event on Saturday 6th November in Priory Park - full details are on http://prioryrelays.com/ The event cannot proceed within the generous help of volunteers.
If you're available to volunteer at this event can you please register this on the following site - https://forms.gle/nggBrXshZLhs9vDs9
In accordance with current guidelines, RPAC has liaised with the Council to agree Covid-19 mitigation measures covering all participants in the Priory Relays.
Those applicable to volunteers are as below:
- encouragement to take a lateral flow test before helping
- the offer of PPE (face masks and/or gloves) provided free by RPAC
- asking that the NHS QR code at Race HQ is scanned on arrival
- excluding attendance of any volunteer who is in self isolation, in the same household as someone in self-isolation or is displaying Covid-19 symptoms
There will be no requirement for volunteers to:
- complete/submit a Health Questionnaire
- have their temperature taken on race day

If you run in an event, do please let us know your results by emailing . If possible please can you submit them by Sunday evening at the latest as this allows us to meet the deadline for the Surrey Mirror sports pages.

On Saturday 13th November the next Surrey League XC match takes place on Wimbledon Common.

Border League Upcoming Junior Events by Mike Gent
We are again this year entered in the Border League. This is a development Cross Country League for Juniors from U9s to U15s.
The Border League this year will comprise of only 3 matches this year.
Everyone of any standard is free to race and there is no cost. There are now three fixtures this year (the event on 7th November has been cancelled):
- Sunday 5th December - Aldershot 11:00am
- Sunday 6th February - Stoke Park Guildford 2:00pm
- Sunday 6th March - Reigate -12:00pm.
Please mark these dates in your diaries and I will share further details nearer the time.
Senior Section News
Sunday 24th October MABAC event at Nonsuch Park
A strong turnout from RPAC at the Nonsuch Park MABAC event saw us rise to third position in the league behind Dorking and Wimbledon Windmilers. Read all about it here.
Members' News
David Nurse ran the Oxford Half Marathon on 17th October in 1:33:36 beating his half marathon PB by four minutes. Apologies for missing this last week David and really well done!
Neil Freeman-Jones ran a PB in the Tonbridge 10k yesterday, finishing in 37:16. Here is a picture of Neil with his brother who runs for Sevenoaks AC. Fabulous time Neil!
Karima Graham completed the Dorney Lake Half Marathon yesterday in 1:58:19. Karima said it was "deliciious to get a sub 2 hours for the first time in a couple of years". Here she is showing off what looks like a great addition to the trophy cabinet. Well done Karima!
Kate Knight completed the Beachy Head Marathon in 8:44:26. The course was changed because of flooding so involved two climbs of the Severn Sisters. Marathon number 88 done! Well done Kate, you are a legend.
