Friday 4th Saturday 5th Sunday 6th February Reigate Priory AC website updates

I will be making changes to the Reigate Priory AC website this coming weekend.

Here is a list of the changes that I will be making...

  • A Restructure of the menu system. This will improve navigation of the site - particularly on mobile devices.
  • Mass-removal of user accounts. The remaining accounts will belong to coaches, committee members and club captains (with some exceptions).
  • Adding legacy results to the website. All recorded results between the years 2000 and 2014 will be added within their own page.
  • Adding legacy photos to the website. The website prior to 2014 had a photo gallery, and this will be reinstated with a password which will be presented in the email version of the newsletter.
  • Archiving of all news items before 2021. All news items prior to January 1st 2021 will move to a page dedicated to archived news.
  • Addition of a photo on the home page. This revolves around some images, but we will be adding and replacing these photos as necessary.
  • Making the banners full-width. The Website banners at the top of each page will increase in size, and clicking them will return you to the home page.

Note that this is the first part of a club website refresh planned for this year.

Further future work will include replacing images displayed in certain places on the website, and an inspection of all of the content within the website with a view to a refresh.

Please note that while these changes are being made some parts of the site may not load correctly, so please bear with me.

If you have any comments regarding the website please can you direct these to me Paul Walters

Surrey Schools Inter-Counties XC Selection - from David Mills

There were many excellent performances by RPAC Juniors at the recent Surrey Schools XC Championships.

Having qualified to take part through the district races held in November, the Championships now provided a route into the Surrey Schools XC teams for the upcoming South East Schools Inter-Counties matches.

By virtue of their strong performances in the Championships, the following from RPAC have been selected to represent Surrey Schools:

Seniors: Oscar Curry and Eva Marsh.
Inter Girls: Lucy Dénecé, Ella Scrase and Nicole Haycock.
Inter Boys: Samuel Stapley, Euan Willis and Sammy Rolaston.
U14 Boys: Max Orchard, Stanley Phillips and Teemu Sara-aho.

Many congratulations to the above on their Surrey selection.

Couch to 5K Programme starts

The January to March Couch to 5K programme has now started. The participants run 3 times a week, with one of the runs being a communal session in Priory Park starting at 10:30AM each Saturday, meeting at a park bench between the Reigate Priory building and the Sunken Garden. We usually finish off at the café.

If you wish to turn up to run with the group and provide encouragement you would we very welcome - but please email Paul Waltersfirst.

This programme will run up to Saturday 26th March where the participants will graduate by running a Park Run - probably Ifield Mill Pond, Tilgate Park or Riddlesdown. Keep the date for your diary.

As it's winter we're currently on roads, and we generally run circuits of up to 3 miles. If you'd be interested email Paul Walters
